AMV#3 is Debmarine Namibia's 177-metre flagship and the largest diamond recovery vessel in the world. R&R formed part of the Owner's Team through construction, integration and commissioning of its onboard recovery and processing plant.
AMV#3, Debmarine Namibia's 177-metre flagship and the largest diamond recovery vessel in the world, arrived in Cape Town from the Damen Mangalia shipyard in Romania to receive its diamond recovery and processing plant. As part of the Owner's Team, R&R provided integrated project controls, engineering management and quantity surveying throughout modular construction, vessel integration and commissioning.
The processing plant was built dockside as separate modules, which were then lifted onto the vessel for final integration and commissioning. This build sequence required exceptionally tight coordination between shore-based construction and shipboard installation, with cost, schedule and technical performance all at stake on a vessel of this scale.
