Diamond Recovery Vessel AMV#3
Owner's Team support for the world's largest diamond recovery vessel, from modular plant construction in Cape Town through to commissioning.
Kamoa-Kakula, in the DRC's Central African Copperbelt, is one of the world's richest copper discoveries. Since 2020, R&R has given its lenders independent technical assurance on cost, schedule, engineering and operations.
Following its Phase 3 expansion, Kamoa-Kakula ranks among the largest copper mining complexes in the world and is the largest in Africa. It produces roughly 600,000 tonnes a year and has the lowest carbon intensity of any major copper mine. Since 2020, R&R has served as Independent Technical Expert to Standard Bank and its lending syndicate on the development.
Lenders on a development of this scale needed independent, reliable verification of cost, schedule, engineering and operational performance through construction and production ramp-up, and as the project moved from Phase 1 steady state into Phase 2 expansion.
Independent reviews, health checks, dispute avoidance and resolution support when projects need clarity and certainty.
Through an ongoing programme of site visits and technical audit reporting, R&R has tracked and verified project performance, giving Standard Bank and its lending syndicate independent assurance at each stage of the development.
